Is a positive integer x an even number?
1) The smallest prime factor of x is 2.
2) The greatest prime factor of x is 13.
OA=A
.
Why is not sufficient the second statement? I need some help. Could anyone help me here? Thanks in advance.

We have to answer if x is even or not?
1) The smallest prime factor of x is 2.
Since 2 is a factor of "x", this implies that x is even. Hence, this statement is SUFFICIENT.
2) The greatest prime factor of x is 13.
This statement doesn't tell us anything about the number "x". We can have two cases:
- If x=13 then "x" is NOT even.
- If x=26 then "x" is even.
Since we got two different cases, we conclude that this statement is NOT SUFFICIENT.
Therefore, the correct answer to this question is the option A.
I hope this can help you.
