I've just finished the GMAT after MONTHS of studying (maybe years if you include a prior study attempt - but no test - in 2008)... After my test, I looked on to see a 690 score. This is a decent score, sure. However my splits were heavily skewed to verbal. Q-42 (61%), V-42 (95%).
I graduated from a top communications school with a 3.3 GPA, double majoring in both marketing and digital media. Furthermore, I've completed a post-grad Business Management certificate at NYU. My work experience is quite strong having both run my own company for 3 years and serving a key role in a very successful international tech startup.
I am looking to attend one of the following programs:
1. NYU Stern
2. U Mich Ross
3. Carnegie Mellon Tepper
I'd like to study strategy which is a slightly less math-intensive curriculum than, say, finance.
Do you think a 690 score with such low quant score is adequate to compete for a spot in these school?
