I have a great deal of experience as an interviewer, and, while I think it is nice to get a thank you, I think it would be a bit creepy if someone tracked down my contact information. Then again, I've never been in a situation where an interviewee didn't have my email address (was the interview set up by phone?). And, I do not hold it against an interviewee if they do not send a thank you!! This would especially be the case if I knew he/she didn't have my contact information!

However, if you were interviewed on campus or by a member of the admissions staff, I do think it may make sense to track it down. If it was an alumn in your area, I might think twice. AND, next time, ask your interviewer for their contact information!!

If you want to give more details, I'll try to give you a better answer. But, this is just my opinion as an interviewer. I'd be curious to hear what others think (and have done).
