3) x and y are integers, x=?
1) 5(x+1)=5x+y
2) (x+5)*(y-5)=0
answer to this question would be E, right? OA to this question is not given

IMO E as well. x can be any number and the equations can both equal 0.

why not C?

(1) gives y=5
(2) gives y=5,x=-5

if you plug in 5 for y in the second equation, the left hand side would be equal to the right hand side (i.e 0) for any value of 'x'

so a unique value of 'x' cannot be determined! hence E

from second stm2 we can conclude that either x = -5 or y =5 you have used and instead of or.... hope to help
