Hi,

Now looking at applying to INSEAD/ IMD for the Jan 2009 intake.
I'm wondering if my undergrad/Bachelors degree will be considered as equivalent to an American degree.
Indian Engineering students looking at an MBA don't face a problem 'cause they have a 4year degree. What do other students do?

Dear StuckInALoopHole:

Your 3 year degree from India is not equivalent to a US bachelor's degree. It is possible that the combination of the 3 year degree and post graduate diploma will equal a US bachelor's degree, but you would need to get your two transcripts evaluated to confirm that the combination would equal a US bachelor's degree.

You should also check with INSEAD and IMD to determine the requirements and how those schools will view your education.

Almost everywhere else other than US and Canada (e.g. London), you've a 3 years bachelor program and that is usually because high school standards abroad is much higher than in the US. I don't think you need another degree to make it equivalent to an US degree. I might be wrong though, as I got my degree from the US, although in 3 years because of my high school credits :)
