Since Kaplan tries to simulate GMAT as close as possible, I am sure their program also has a severe penalty for not completing the test. Whether the penalty is close to the real GMAT level is something we cannot be sure about since nobody apart from GMAC knows the algorithm to used to calculate scores. In any case,I am sure not completing the test would have impacted your scores for sure.

I would say don't be upset because it did not happen in the test day for the first time. Work on your pacing and try to complete the test with at least 5 minutes to spare.

For detailed official information,you can look up the GMAC site or the OG .
There it is clearly written that GMAT does penalize u for leaving questions on the test,so i guess that could have hampered ur scores.
In case of dilemma it is better to make a calculated guess rather than wasting unnecessary time on a question.
On the GMAT there are several test questions also which do not contribute to ur score.
So, it may also be the case that the questions u were pondering upon did not actually help increase ur score.


Just look up the site and u will be more confident about what I wrote above.
As a piece of advice ,in case you are stuck at a question it's better to apply the elimination techniques and rule out as many options as possible.This will increase ur probability of getting the question right.Alternatively,u can also try plugging no.s
