Statement I
lyl > lzl
if x=5, y=-3, z=-2
lx - yl>lx - zl
8 > 7
if x =-5, y=-3,z=-2
lx - yl>lx - zl
2 < 3

Insufficient.

Statement II
x<0, we dont know anything about y and z. Insufficient.

Combining I and II
x<0
lyl > lzl

if x = -5, y=3, z=2
lx - yl>lx - zl
8>7

if x=-5, y=-3, z=-2
lx - yl>lx - zl
2 < 3

Insufficient.

Hence E.

stmt 1:|y|>|z|

two cases-both should be positive or negative--insufficient

Stmt 2-x<0...it does not give us any infor for y and z--insufficent

By combining both,it doesnt matter whether x is positive or negative..So both are also insufficient..IMO E

In other words the question is asking whether the distance between X and Y is greater than the distance between X and Z

1) ¦y¦>¦z¦

No info about X and the sign of Y and Z - INSUF

2) x < 0 No info Y and Z - INSUF

1+2) we still dont know anything about signs of Y and Z
