If a, b, c, and d are positive integers, is (a/b) (c/d) > c/b?
(1) c > b
(2) a > d

How would you rephrase this statement? WOuld you apply transitive properties for these sort of problems??PLease show your workings..Thanks

Since we know a,b,c,d are positive integers,we can rephrase the question stem as

a/d > 1 ?

Statement (1) insufficient. does not gives us relation ship between a and d

Statement (2) a>d. If numerator is greater than denominator, then a/d will always be greater than 1. Sufficient.

I bet OA is B

I used a little bit another reasoning, but parallel_chase's approach is faster

(a/b) (c/d) > c/b
is the same as
(a/d) (c/b) > c/b

as c/b are equal to increase left part we need a/d to be more that 1, or a>d

only B gives this
