Hi Ron,

Need little more help to understand the error in option A.

Breaking option A -

The greatest road system built in the Americas prior to the arrival of Christopher Columbus (Appositive)
was (verb)
the Incan highway,
which, over 2,500 miles long and extending from northern Ecuador through Peru to Southern Chile (modifier)

If the sentence was flipped -

the Incan highway, ,which, over 2,500 miles long and extending from northern Ecuador through Peru to Southern Chile , was The greatest road system built in the Americas prior to the arrival of Christopher Columbus

It appears to be correct.

Kindly explain

"which" has to be the subject of a verb.
in choice (a), there's no verb after "which" -- it's just "which" followed by modifiers. not ok.
