Germs per dish = (total number of germs)/(total number of dishes)

total number of germs = 0.037 x 10^5
= 3700 [moved the decimal point 5 spaces to the LEFT to get 3700]

total number of dishes = 74000 x 10^(-3)
= 74 [moved the decimal point 3 spaces to the RIGHT to get 3700]

So, Germs per dish = (3700)/(74)
= (37)(100)/(37)(2)
= 100/2
= 50

Answer: E
