In terms of total assets

by kvcpk » Fri Aug 20, 2010 3:24 am
In terms of total assets, the top five percent of households in the U.S. control well over 50% of the nation's wealth. Since income inequality is a source of political tension and social conflict, we should institute a 25% increase in the minimum wage in order to redress this inequality.

Which of the following, if true, would strengthen this conclusion?

A. The percentage of entry-level, unskilled workers paid substantially more than the minimum wage has increased in each of the past five years.
B. The amount of assets held by the highest paid hourly wage workers has declined in each of the last five years.
C. Some part-time and full-time workers' incomes would rise substantially if the proposal were adopted.
D. There are more important factors than minimum wage rate to consider in any substantive, comprehensive analysis of income distribution.
E. Low wage workers are not expected to lose any jobs due to the wage rate rise.

don't be afraid of failure and don't abandon it.
People who work sincerely are the happiest."

Yes it is E.

It makes sure that increasing the minimum wages would benefit the low wage workers.

Hi Friends --

I picked E also, but I was tempted by C -- can anyone explain why C would definitely be wrong?

"C" reads: Some part-time and full-time workers’ incomes would rise substantially if the proposal were adopted.

Meaning that while some... incomes rise substantially, the remaining would not see their incomes would rise substantially.
