Please, can any expert explain this PS question for me? I tried to solve it but I can't get the correct answer. Thanks.

Since the each of the 12 songs is selected 4 times, the total number of song selections = 12*4 = 48.swerve wrote:In a survey of students, each student selected from a list of 12 songs the 2 songs that the student liked best. If each song was selected 4 times, how many students were surveyed?

Since each student makes 2 selections, we get:
Number of students = (total selections)/(selections per student) = 48/2 = 24.
The correct answer is D.

Since each of the 12 songs was selected 4 times, thus there were a total of 12 x 4 = 48 song selections.
