Hi all,
Please answer & explain..
Improved technology and equipment often result in fewer injuries during high-risk activities such as rock climbing and scuba diving. But participant education also plays a large role in reducing the number of injuries sustained during these activities. People who are poorly trained in these activities run a much higher risk of injury even if provided with the latest and best equipment.
Which of the following can be properly inferred from the information above?
A Training is a more important safety factor than equipment in high-risk activities.
B People who are properly trained in their activities do not sustain injuries.
C The safety benefits of the latest equipment can be offset by inadequate preparation.
D Rock climbing and scuba diving are more risky than any other activities.
E People with the latest equipment often neglect proper training
OA: C
Improved technology and equipment

A-> The passage does not confirm the training is more important then technology and equipment. It states that training also plays a large role. WRONG CHOICE
B-> This is extreme assumption. The passage states that people who don't undergo training will have much higher risk of getting injured. It does not mean that People who undergo training will NEVER be injured.
WRONG CHOICE
C-> The passage clearly states in the beginning that use of latest equipment will reduce risk of injuries and then it concludes stating that with inadequate training people have high risk of sustaining injuries even if they used the latest equipment. This is what option C states
CORRECT
D-> Out of scope . We are not comparing activities in this passage.
E-> Out of scope. We are concerned about what the people neglect.
So Answer is C.
Hope I cleared your doubt.

C is the answer. My technique is as follows
A Training is a more important safety factor than equipment in high-risk activities.
its not Training-Participant education is the factor.
B People who are properly trained in their activities do not sustain injuries.
This statement is very generalised. Nowhere in the passage is written that people wont sustain injuries.
C The safety benefits of the latest equipment can be offset by inadequate preparation.
Leave it for a moment as this seems to be ansr
D Rock climbing and scuba diving are more risky than any other activities.
Cant be inferred. Passage stating about Rock Climbing and Scuba diving, not comparing these games with any other games.
E People with the latest equipment often neglect proper training .
Again..not written.
So,C becomes the ansr
