Importance of grade on the Statistics courses

by Elin » Mon Jul 30, 2007 7:57 pm
Hi Stacy/Amy,
I have a quick question regarding the grades of the statistics course.
I didn't do so well on these courses during undergraduate school.
I am wondering if it's worth retaking them again.
I plan to apply for Fall 2008 class and plan to take GMAT for the first time in October.
I am not sure if I should wait for one more year, so I can improve on my GPA first. Or focus on GMAT.

Thanks in advance for your help

Hi Elin,

I would see how you do on the GMAT first. I'm not sure why you are focusing on statistics in particular, but what's most important for the academic profile is your overall GPA in undergrad, along with your demonstrated quantitative ability. This could be demonstrated through a high GMAT score and/or good grades in engineering, calculus, statistics or even economics.

Good luck!
