I have a query regarding the resume for MBA through GMAT.My profile:-
2.5 yrs exp as software engineer in top telecom MNC(2004-nov 2006)
Nov 2006-Jan 2007 : worked as senior engineer(2 months) in a growing telecom company(reason for leaving: Not satisfied with work environment)
Jan 2007 - onwards: working as Member Tech Staff in a fast growing company(kind of startup) and will be senior Member Tech Staff in june.

I would like to know:-
1.I wanted to know if its good/required to show a 2 month work exp in an MNC or I can skip the 2 months exp. and say that i was out to vacation etc

2.Since different companies have diff policies for designations(i.e how much experience to get a particular designation),so is it self explanatory to B-School ppl dealing with admissions?

I would leave it off your resume unless you feel that it can help your candidacy in some way. It's perfectly legitimate to take the month of December off between jobs and will not require any further explanation.

I would not assume that anything that is specific to your company is self-explanatory to an adcomm. You should take advantage of opportunities to provide further explanation, but it probably will not fit on your 1 page resume. There are generally other opportunities within the application.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I just wanted to know that saying I was out to vacation (if asked)wont impact the background verification stuff.Also,if I inform present company to treat me as if I am coming directly from first company,will that solves the background verification issue?

I don't think you should say you were on vacation; you definitely should not provide fase information. I just do not think you should include a 2 month position on your resume, and it will not be a big enough gap that it needs an explanation.

Thanks again. But my only concern is what should I say if they ask (in rare case)?Also,what will be the reason which i should give for not mentioning that experience?

If in an interview they asked what you did during that month you should say that you briefly worked for a different company but quickly realized it was not the right fit for you and moved on.You did not mention it because it was insignificant and very brief.
