In this case, x/y = 1/2 = 1/2.
Since x/y can be different values, INSUFFICIENT.
Statement 2:
Here, x=2 and y=1, with the result that (2^x)(3^y) = 2²3¹ = 12.
Thus, x/y = 2/1 = 2.
SUFFICIENT.
