if X>1 and Y>1, is X<Y?

(1) X^2/(XY+X)<1
(2) XY/Y^2-Y<1

(1) X^2/(XY+X)<1
X^2 < XY + X
X < Y + 1

(2)XY/Y^2 - Y < 1
XY/Y^2 < Y + 1
XY/Y < Y(Y+1)
X < Y(Y+1)

I would go with E.

we can't reduce X ( a) or Y(b) becouse don't know x and y even or odd

I would go with E. The trick is we cannot multiply the divisor with a variable whose sign we do not know. If it is negative, that could change how the equality is represented. Since we do not know the sign for either x or y, we cannot assume they are positive.


Answer is E
