Given x < 0

1.x/y < 0.

For x/y to be < 0 y needs to be + ve since x is already -ve and a -ve y will result in a + ve x/y. SUFFICIENT

2. y - x > 0

-1 - (-4) > 0 => y < 0
5 - (-4) > 0 => y > 0 INSUFFICIENT

IMO A.
Getting defeated is just a temporary notion, giving it up is what makes it permanent.

It is given that x < 0 or x = negative and x/y = negative and it is possible only if y = positive or y > 0; SUFFICIENT.

(2) y - x > 0
If x = -5, y = 10, y - x = 10 + 5 = 15 > 0. Here y > 0.
If x = -10, y = -5, y - x = -5 + 10 = 5 > 0. Here y < 0.
No definite answer; NOT sufficient.

The correct answer is A.
