If Nicole worked 20% more this week than she worked last week, how many hours did she work last week?

(1) Nicole worked 36 hours this week.
(2) Nicole worked 6 more hours this week than she worked last week.

The OA is D.

I need help with this DS question. Can any expert explain it please? Thanks.

Say Nicole worked 100 hrs last week, thus, she worked 120 hours this week.

(1) Nicole worked 36 hours this week.

Actual number of hours she worked last week = 36*(100/120) = 30 hrs

(2) Nicole worked 6 more hours this week than she worked last week.

This means that 6 hours equal to 20% of the number of hours she worked last week

Thus, the number of hours she worked last week = 6*(100/20) = 30 hrs

The correct answer: D
