(1) m-1 and n+1 are consecutive positive integers
(2) m is an even integer

$m$ and $n$ are consecutive $\Rightarrow\, m = n+1$ and $n=m+1$
Is $m > n$?

1) $m-1$ and $n+1$ are consecutive

If $m=4$, $n$ can be 3 or 5

$m-1 =4-1=3$
$n+1= 3+1=4$ or $n+1 = 5+1= 6$

$m > n$ Sufficient $\color{green}{\checkmark}$

2) If $m$ is even
and we know $m$ and $n$ are consecutive integers $n$ will be odd

$m=2$
$n$ can be 1 or 3
No Sufficient $\Large{\color{red}\times}$
