If [x] is the greatest integer less than or equal to x, what is the value of [-1.6]+[3.4]+[2.7]?

(A) 3
(B) 4
(C) 5
(D) 6
(E) 7

The OA is the option A.

Shouldn't it be 4? I am confused. Please, someone explain this question to me.

[-1.6] = greatest integer less than or equal to -1.6 = -2.
[3.4] = greatest integer less than or equal to 3.4 = 3.
[2.7] = greatest integer less than or equal to 2.7 = 2.
Sum of all three values = -2 + 3 + 2 = 3.

The correct answer is A.

[-1.6]+[3.4]+[2.7] = -2 + 3 + 2 = 3
