If \(\dfrac{x}3+\dfrac{x}4+15=x,\) then \(x =\)

Source: — Problem Solving |

$$\frac{x}{3}+\frac{x}{4}+15=x$$
Take the lcm
$$\frac{4x+3x+180}{12}=x$$
$$4x+3x+180=12x$$
$$7x+180=12x$$
$$180=12x-7x$$
$$180=5x$$
$$x=\frac{180}{5}=36$$

Answer = option C

If \(\dfrac{x}3+\dfrac{x}4+15=x,\) then \(x =\)

A. 18
B. 24
C. 36
D. 48
E. 60

Answer: C

Solution:

Multiplying the equation by 12, we have:

4x + 3x + 180 = 12x

180 = 5x

36 = x
