Since a = 2^x and f(a) = x, we have f(2^x) = x.
Then f(2^{4(m-2)4/^{2m-8}) = f(2^{4(m-2)}/2^{2(2m-8)}) = f(2^{4(m-2) - 2(2m-8)})= f(2^{4m-8-4m+16}) = f(2^8)= 8.

Therefore, B is the answer.
