If 65 percent of the firm’s employees are full-time, then 35 percent of the firm’s employees are part-time. We see that full-time employees exceed part-time employees by 30 percent. Since we know that is 5,100, we can create the equation:

5,100 / x = 30 / 100

30x = 510,000

x = 17,000
