Answer: E

Solution:

Simplifying each equation (dividing by 5 in the first equation and by 3 in the second equation), we have x + y = 25 and x - 3y = 19/3. Now, subtracting the second equation from the first, we have:

4y = 25 - 19/3

4y = 56/3

y = 14/3

Answer: 14/3
