Lovely Professional University offers Ph.D in Microbiology as a part time course having maximum duration of 4 years. Master degree holders in the concerned subject can seek admission through written test and/or interview. Written test is based on the syllabus of the qualifying degree and comprises of subjective type questions only. Master’s degree in Microbiology (or related subjects) with a minimum of 55% marks is the basic qualification required. Admissions to the course are done on the basis of written test and/or interview. Written test is conducted for time duration of 3 hours. Medium of the test is English and there will be subjective model questions only. Questions asked for the test will be based on the syllabus of the qualifying master’s degree. There will be two parts for the written test. First part will be a general paper and comprises 5 questions based on the respective discipline. In second section, there will be 6 questions. First 5 questions from this section are of short answer type. Each of these questions carries 5 marks. 6th question is choice based. There will be 3 questions in the set and candidate needs to answer only one. This question is based on subject area of specialization (Industrial Microbiology) and marks given for the question is 25.
