So i have been making the same mistakes over and over on SC.
I keep getting wrong the answer choices where "the referent it / they is not clear "
What is the rule here? is it supposed to refer to the last noun in the sentence or to the first or to the subject of the sentence?
Example:
Becaue the new maritime code provides that tiny islets can be the basis for claims to the fisheries and oil fields of large sea areas, it has already stimulated...
Why It in this case refers to maritime code and not to the fisheries or oil fields??
