I need guidance - Not doing quality study

Hello all ,

I need some serious advise . Firstly, I have been preparing for the GMAT ( sincerely) since December . However, I am not making much progress in the quality of study .My weak section has been Quant , I did not study for quant for a week and now I feel I 've forgotten many concepts /approach /strategy . My exam is on 13th April . I am quit worried how to tackle the situation. How much time( hours per day ) should I spend doing quant . Weak areas have been - Word problem , percentages .

When should i start taking the Mocks now that one month is left for the exam . My target is going to be 690-700 .I can spend 6 hours everyday from now onward .

Please guide me.

Ps: I am ready to share more details if experts are willing to help and want to know information from me .

hi,
what materials have you been using so far? how did you learn the theory?
You should start taking tests quite soon. You can start from doing one test per week in the next 2 weeks.

Thanks Kasia , I have been using Manhattan GMAT ( All Quant volumes) . I did the problem couple of months back , do I have to redo the problem now that I am out of touch ?

Also, I am practicing question from BTG & GmatClub forums. I can understand the theory ( I have an engineering background) but the main hurdle is when it comes to applying the theory . I have to do numerous problems to make my self acquainted with the type of problems tested .

Now that the time is very limited . How should I practice quant . I really appreciate if you could give me a brief layout on the strategy ..thanks for your time .

I would recommend that you take one test per week in the next two weeks and debrief them in a detailed way - which question types (e.g. CR Assumption) you solve incorrectly and which ones take you too long to tackle. It is important to note down the question type really precisely. Then you need to repeat the theory concerned with a given question type and practice solving similar questions from the Official Guide.
In the last two weeks you need to do two tests per week and follow the same approach.
I would advise to work both on the verbal and the quant. If you feel that the quant is more important, then you can spend 30% of your time practicing verbal questions and 70% practicing quantitative questions.
