i'm a dentist!

by hindon_82 » Tue Dec 02, 2008 10:45 pm
Hi Stacy,

After completing my internship in Dentistry I decided that I want to get my MBA but i was wondering what are my chances. I'm an international student with no work experience (except for the 1 year internship). i'm planning to take the GMAT in a month and my goal is 750.
and one more thing, do you think i'll benefit from an MBA if i dont' have any work experience.

Thank you

Dear hindon_82,

You gave no real information regarding your profile to be able to comment. What makes the difference for any applicant is how well you put your application together. It is imperative you present a strong rationale for why you want a MBA, how it fits into your overall career plan, and why the school you are applying to is a good match for you. Likewise, you must distinguish yourself from the competition and demonstrate successful leadership experiences/evidence of leadership potential. Since you are a dentist, you will need to explicitly address how the MBA makes sense with your current profession.

Good luck,
Lisa
