Go to www.mba.com and find out all you can about the GMAT. It is a tough test (I took it two days ago). Many people take a course, find out which ones are available in your city. More gifted ones get by with a few books. I would suggest both.

Whatever you do, get your hands on the Official GMAT guide, a book published by the makers of the test. It contains real GMAT problems (older ones) and will give you a good idea of the battle to come.

I would also recommend the Kaplan GMAT 2008, in case you're feeling cocky and want to waive an actual course.

But first and foremost, I would recommend you take a diagnostic test, just so you can see where you stand.

Check out the www.gmathacks.com gmat bibles also, I've heard good things about them.

goodluck and study hard because the gmat is no joke. Remember, take your time. Don't register for the test until you are 110% sure that you can kick ass and get a score of > 700. Focus on learning the core content. Don't just go through the questions and then read the answers, hoping you'll get a thorough understanding of the principles, rules and concepts needed for the test.

Last of all, once you're a 110% sure you can nail the test, then download the gmat prep tests from www.mba.com. You can dowload these test for free once you register for the test.

Your final phase of review should be practicing the computer prep tests. Remember, take your time. Do it once and do it right.
