HI, i have completed my bachelor from united kingdom in Bsc hons software engineering. before i post my query i would like to tell you something about my education. i had done my first 2 years of bachelors in software engineering from India and thereafter i went to London to study my final year on credit transfer basis. in my first and second year i had secured good marks but in my final year i had secured very low marks i.e,( third class hons). the university didn't consider my first 2 years marks and they only gave me degree on the basis on my final year. i am very much upset that with 3rd class hons grade i cant even apply for job as most of the companies ask for minimum 60% marks in bachelors. i want to do masters in finance from usa/canada. i have scored 720 score in GMAT. so my question to you is that with low marks in bachelors and with good GMAT score will i be able to get admission in good university in usa/canada. i have also a gap year of 3 years between my studies.

Hi Sanjeev,

Your GMAT score is decent.
Top universities in US may create a fuss about your GPA/ low grades but mid rank schools in US ( rank 20 or so) and schools in Canada may not be that particular. So, you can target them.

Columbia, MIT Sloan, CMU Tepper, NYU Stern all have good Finance programs. While work experience requirement may differ from B-school to B-school and year to year you would need to have some very strong credentials to get into a good program.
