I applied for Stanford Reliance fellowship on june1.

Today(July1) is the finalist notification..

I was really embarrassed on seeing my results.

I was not selected.

Please any one could tell me whats the problem with my application

Here is my a pdf file of my application .

My personal info,Resume and an essay response is what they had asked for.

I don't know whats is lagging in my application.
I don't know whether my application is not upto stanford standards

Can any one please review it.

The file format of pdf will look in the same format who will evaluate my profile since it is the copy send by the evaluating team to me.

Hey, While I do not know anything about the Scholarship, have you considered the possibility that you lost out to better candidates?

If I remember right, they give out only a select number (5) of scholarships. What if there were candidates who run their own NGOs, fight for the betterment of human life in slums and have contributed in big social projects etc? I am not ridiculing your profile but just giving you examples on what kind of competition is out there.

Another factor is that you could have lost out to experienced candidates. You have not completed your degree yet and could have gone against you. An average MBA school has 5 years experience among their students.

so you were admitted to stanford and yet are embarrassed that you didn't get a fellowship given to 1.3% of the class? am I misunderstanding something?

That is not the case. The Standford Reliance scholarship finalists for Fall 2012 admissions are chosen in June 2011. He missed out on that.

Hello money9111,
This scholarship is a two stage process .In the first stage out of many applicant 50 finalists will be selected.

Then the finalist will take the gmat and apply for stanford.

A maximum of five will be selected among 50 finalists for the scholarship.
