If you want to start your GMAT prep then i'd suggest you not take any online test right now. Get hold of the Official Guide for GMAT review and do the diagnostic tests to get a sense of where you stand. Based on that you will know what are your weak areas. After that train on those weak areas and then once you are pretty familiar with that take a practice test.

As for your previous questions,

1. Your GPA is good enough for the top schools.
2. Yes. Schools look for a well rounded profile. So it might be a good idea to work on your hobby and give them (schools) something substantial.
3. You don't need to learn about business nuances. Coming from an Engineering background schools don't expect that from you. I would suggest brainstorming on what your future goals are, why do you need an MBA at this point and where do you want to study. These are the aspects that Schools expect applicants to be sure of.
