I'm not sure what a mobile timer application is.

My thoughts are that some questions will take more time than others, so the goal isn't to answer every questions in 2 minutes.

As a max though, I think you not spend more than 4 minutes on a question.

When you read a question, you will have to decide

A) I can easily get this question in a short amount of time
B) There is little chance I'm going to get this question right in a reasonable amount of time. I should make a logical guess and benefit from the time savings.
C) If I invest some time in this question, I reasonably think I can come up with the right answer.

Remember, its a CAT, so you don't have to beat yourself up for skipping a question as you would in a typical multiple choice test.

Some useful tips I picked up from this wonderful forum!

While timing, don't try to time each question unless it seems to take too long. I follow this pattern while taking a full CAT:-

Qs - Time Left
1 - 75 mins
10 - 55 mins
20 - 35 mins
30 - 15 mins

Another thing, I don't mind if my first 10 qs extend a couple of minutes beyond my time limit. Usually there'll be some that take less than 2 mins so it makes up for time. But if a single question is taking like 3 mins or so and you're still not sure, guess and move on.

Try not to guess on 2 consecutive questions. Getting both wrong in a string is not good.

Will need to guess on some questions for sure but best to do it through a proces of elimination rather than blind guessing.

When you click next, move on to the new question, don't keep wondering about the last one.

You can find free stopwatches online - just google it. I downloaded one called splittimer.exe though not sure where from and haven't used it at all anyways.
