Hi,
I am appearing for GMAT on 7 days from now and still not able to score more than 30 in Verbal.
I have been reading Manhattan Sentence correction guide for SC and OG 13 for CR & RC.

Could you please help with a strategy to improve my verbal scores in the remaining 7 days .

Currently I am scoring around 600-620 in my GMAT practice tests and aware that this would not suffice to get admission in any good B school in India or abroad.

I have 9+ years of exp in IT and working as a Test Architect in an IT product company.

So, desperately looking to improve my verbal scores to reach 680+ .

Appreciate quick response.

Thanks,
Amit

7 days is a really short time. What I can recommend is that you continue learning theory for the next 2-3 days and then do tests preferably one test in the morning and one in the afternoon. Still I am afraid that you need at least 3-4 weeks of work in order to achieve your desired score. Anyway - I keep my fingers crossed!

Thanks Kasia.

For now I am just focusing on strengthening my understanding on the basics of sentence correction and investing on practice test. DO you think that I should re visit the fundamentals on RC & CR ?

Amit

Dude my Few cents.

I am not sure whats your week area. ( CR, SC or RC). But still, My suggestion is -

First, If you are scoring in 630 range. you must be getting atleast 15 question wrong. So decide your strategy regarding which questions you want to skip.

Second, Focus on your weak areas and read some good material

In my opinion RC and CR are more or less same :)

To Brush up CR and RC Try these books
1) power score CR 2) Kaplan 800 3) Kaplan basic tutorial software (to prepare RC and CR strategy).

For SC
Kaplan 800 can be good option in this short period

Remember by correctly attempting few hard questions and managing time on CAT, you can easily take the score atleast by 20-30 points.
