I have just started preparing for the GMAT which I plan to take in November. Yesterday, I took the diagnostic quiz (Kaplan Premier 2011) online without any studying and got a 60%. Surprisingly, I did ok on the verbal section (16/20 correct) but awful on the quant (7/18 correct with only 1 out of 7 correct on the DS section). This is alarming because my math has always been good and I am about to graduate with an engineering degree! After going through the answers, I did understand all my mistakes. Most of them occurred because I didn't put much thought into them and also because I have forgotten some basic concepts. However I'm really scared about the DS section bringing my score down.
What do you suggest my strategy should be starting now? I was planning to buy all the Manhattan books and the 3 OGs but would you suggest anything extraordinary in particular to improve on the quant? Also, if anyone has taken the Kaplan diag quiz, could you tell me what a 60% means in terms of the GMAT score?
