How to improve my RC skills??????

Expert replies

Hi Eric,

I have been a regular member in this forum for quite some time, this forum has been of immense help to my GMAT Preparation.

My RC skills seem to have bit its very low. I dont seem to be getting most of my RC's right. I am able to read and appreciate most of the passages (except biology passages) but when it comes to answering them I seem to fumble.

Most of the passages in OG (doing it the second time after a gap of a month) I feel I have already read and am answering them subconsciously because I have encountered them earlier.

Kindly advise how can I analyze where I am going wrong in my RC section. It is very tricky as I dont know if I should read the passage more slowly (I take about 3-4 min to read the passage, I dont hurry through the passage).Do I have to pay attention to every word I read. I tried a few RC techniques like questioning myself while reading, writing the points while reading, but none seem to help.

It would be great if you can give pointers that will help me plug the gaps with respect to my RC skills. My exam date is nearing and my weak RC skill is a cause for concern.

SOS...Help .. quite apprehensive today.
