Guys,

I started my GMAT preparation recently and have difficutly with sentence correction. Im using MGMAT sentence correction bible. I perform well in the problem set that accompanies each chapter. When I practice the question in beatthegmat or OG, Im not able to identify the sentence correction type.

This cost me lot of errors. I need some help...

Appreciate any help..

I guess...You the the error before you look into a question in the exercise/chapeter you MIGHT have done...
Those questions are only to make you comfortable with the MEHTOD in those exercise..

Kindly grasp only the methods???
First take: 640 (50M, 27V) - RC needs 300% improvement
Second take: coming soon..

Sorry for the typo.. Do you know the type of error that is there in the example problem before you solve that example problem??

Are the example problems just arranged below a topic chapter? "Modifiers" and then you know that you are looking for a dangling modifier...

Exactly. Execrise problems reflects the idea what you just learnt. When I try to work problems in CAT practice , im not able to identify the type of sentence correction required.

For eg: In the following link , error in the underlined part of the sentence is Idiom. But I was concentrating to correct the tense error. Until I saw the explanation I was totally lost.

Any suggestion how you guys drill down to particular sentence correction type would help me.

Hi

Don't worry. First of all you are using the correct guide second in this forum people generally discuss tricky questions which involve multiple concepts..as you just started don't get frustrated. Try to read and understand the explanations and in the initial if you able to drop 3 incorrect answer choice with properly finding the flaw thats a good go. Work on your speed later, initially go slowly. Note any concept you find good and useful in your personal concept book specially the comments of experts. Regarding idiom errors, for now consider them secondary, after solving if you find there was an IDIOM error, don't get frustrated as your first task should be to master the main concepts like modifier errors, sub-verb etc
