How to be an MBA consultant?

by jelt » Mon Mar 31, 2008 1:27 pm
Hi Lisa,

I'm going to start at Wharton this May, and was wondering if there was any type of relevant experience I should aim for, while there, in order to possibly pursue a career in admissions consulting post-MBA.

Thanks,
Jason

Dear Jason:

Ideally, you need to get experience working in the admissions office. Most schools employ, either as volunteers or for a small hourly wage, students to work in the office during their second year. At some programs, there are also opportunities for first year students.

Regards,
Lisa
