How many weeks to take GMAT before deadline?

For those of you who have already taken the GMAT, how many weeks does it take for your GMAT results to arrive at the university you're applying too? In an effort to maximize my study time, I'm attempting to schedule the test as close to the application deadline as possible and still have the results arrive at the school before the deadline.

Is 1.5 weeks sufficient time?

Also, following the test, does the computer give you your results and then you choose the school where you would like them sent too?

I haven't taken the test but from my understanding all that happens is that GMAC gives the schools you select electronic access to see your testing history (all of your scores within a 5 year period). It takes 10 days for the AWA score to come back, but 1.5 weeks should be more than enough time.
