how many quant questions can you miss?

i know the gmat scoring isn't linear and that you can miss a lot of questions and still get a decent score, but does anyone have any rough figures for how many questions you could miss in a section and still get a certain score? i'm aiming for a 40 in quant, and i've heard that, in some cases, i can miss even half the questions and still get that score. is that true? should i be guessing a lot when i'm stumped? thank you for your help!

41 quant, 14 wrong. 43 quant, 12 wrong. Your score is calculated based on the difficulty level of the question so your numbers may be slightly different from mine.

Half wrong would be a little high to get a 40...but as i ride mentioned people get good scores with double digit numbers of questions wrong.

What I wanted to reply to is your other question - should you guess when stumped? The answer is yes. If a question is going to take too long then it really is to your benefit to move on. You will miss questions, it is up to you to decide how. After 90 seconds when you realize it is not happening or after 4 minutes?
