How is this score?

by testguy519 » Thu May 30, 2013 5:10 am
Hi all,

I just got my GMAT score back. I am not applying to a top tier program.

Verbal: 37/81%
Quantitative: 25/14%
Total: 530/40%
AWA: 5.5/77%
IR: 6/67%

Clearly, my Quantitative score is abysmal. But, I am hoping that my V/AWA/IR are enough to save it. Are they? I am still a bit unsure of how to measure myself. I had a 3.4 GPA as an undergraduate and have a few years of work experience. Any ideas?

I think 500 is typical for the school, but that might not take into account my V/Q disparity. What sorts of schools would my score make me eligible for?

PS: I took the test without significant prep. I studied the weekend prior (test was on Monday). I felt pretty good about my score, given that. But, I am still concerned that I will need to retake it because of my V/Q disparity. How big of a deal is that?
