@Saurabh, AWA score of 5 is really a good score. I thing it is close to a 60 percentile. AWA scores rarely have an impact in the applications. I think it might be problematic and would be a red-flag if the adcom observes that the applicant submitted great essays and has a AWA score of <= 3.5 which signals the adcom that the applicant is not good in writing a well reasoned argument/issue. But a score >=5 is a safe score to be ignored.

Generally, AWA score does not play any role in the 3 digit number that you score on GMAT. However, my point is that an applicant with a score of ~ 680 is normally good enough to score >=5 in AWA.

AWA essays plays a negligible role to impress. MBA essays plays a much more bigger role than AWA essays to impress adcom!!
