Hi everyone,

I'm curious how people here manage to stay consistent with GMAT preparation while working full time.

I work in medical billing, so my weekdays are usually filled with deadlines, detailed documentation, and problem-solving. By the end of the day, it can be difficult to find the motivation and energy to study effectively.

For those who have successfully balanced work and GMAT prep:

How many hours did you study on weekdays?
Did you follow a strict study schedule or a flexible one?
How did you avoid burnout while preparing?
Which study habits made the biggest difference in your score?

I'd really appreciate hearing your experiences and any practical advice for professionals preparing for the GMAT alongside a full-time job.

Thanks in advance!

With a demanding job, a short fixed block usually beats long irregular sessions. Something like 60 to 75 minutes on weekday mornings, before deadlines drain your focus, plus one longer weekend session for a timed set or an official practice test. Keep weeknights light: reviewing your error log is enough. Plan for three to four months rather than six weeks, so a heavy week at work does not derail the whole plan, and take one full day off each week to avoid burnout. The habit that moves scores most is reviewing every missed question until you can explain why each wrong answer is wrong, because that is where repeated mistakes get fixed.
