I do not have very much experience with recommendation letters (except high school --> college). I've read in articles where an applicants consultants will edit a recommender's essay (is this even possible?) or applicants will write their own recommendation and have someone else rubber stamp it.

Does anyone have a clear guideline laying out exactly how these are done?
