How Accurate are MGMAT CAT exams?

I am planning to give my GMAT at the end of april. I gave the 1'st CAT test today for Manhattan GMAT and scored a 660. However, i have quite a lot of errors in the test.... mostly on the 700-800 level questions though. I am not sure whether this is a god starting point... is MGMAT a good indicative when it comes to true scores?

Any advice would be appreciated.

The best indicator of your actual GMAT performance is GMATPrep.

Other good practice tests have been developed by Manhattan GMAT, Kaplan, and Princeton Review--however, take these scores with a grain of salt because their algorithms do not perfectly mimic the scoring algorithm of the actual GMAT.

Hi! I am a new member but have been lurking for a while, and I've learned a lot about the different tests and how similar people say they are to the real thing. In order, from most accurate to least accurate:

1. GMATPrep: most like it, of course. MUST do these.
2. Princeton Review. Also has good answer explanations.
3. Manhattan GMAT. Good but a lot harder, so it underestimates your score. Maybe 30 points or so?
4. Kaplan. Really hard and not realistic at all, can underestimate your score by more than 100 points!!!

So I would do the others, but not Kaplan.

Our test has a standard deviation of about 50 points, compared to a standard deviation of 30 points on the official test. It doesn't systematically under- or overestimate scores - the standard deviation is just a bit wider than that of the real test.

Powerprep test

i have the official GMAT tests that can be downloaded from mba.com. Where can i find the powerprep tests?

PowerPrep is just the old version of GMATPrep. I think the software might still be floating around the internet but if you already have GMATPrep, just use that. PowerPrep doesn't use the same algorithm as the real test (GMATPrep does).
