For many people, household labor remains demanding even if able to afford household appliances their grandparents would find a miracle.
(A) even if able to afford household appliances their grandparents would find a miracle
(B) despite being able to afford household appliances their grandparents would find a miracle
(C) even if they can afford household appliances their grandparents would have found miraculous
(D) although they could afford household appliances their grandparents would find miraculous
(E) even if they are able to afford household appliances which would have been a miracle to their grandparents

i found this question in some source, and this question was discussed earlier also in 2009 but i'm wondering, is this question correct???
OA given is C

pronoun "They" is referring to labor....is this correct???

IMO C.

I was very much inclined toward E , but finally got some issue with it :) .

I have an issue with choice C

"even if they can afford household appliances their grandparents would have found miraculous."
we have conditional statement here.
we use would + have + V3 in case of past perfect tense in action.
Here would have found

Don't you think we need HAD + V3 in the condition?

even if they had afforded household appliances, their grandparents would have found miraculous.

This would only be true if it were the grandparents who could afford the appliances; the sentence intends it to be the "many people" of today.
