Hogarth's engravings, which provide a vivid portrait of eighteenth-century London, [u]are of
interest to both [/u]artists and historians.

A. are of interest to both B. are interests both for C. are both interesting to
D. is of interest to both E. is interesting for both

Is "interesting for" is an incorrect idiom?

Yes it is right to use 'are' with plural 'engravings' but my ques is

Is "interesting for" is an incorrect idiom?

No idiom is there like "Intresting for"...Treat this is question as Subject Verb agreement and also BOTH usage only....NOT idiomatically that is correct or not.....

I think the only place you would see INTERESTING + FOR is when the "for" is introducing its own prepositional phrase, as in It might be interesting for a while, but eventually it gets dull. The expected idiom for indicating the entities who would be interested is INTERESTING + TO.
