Hi Amy/Stacy,

I am a bit confused the colleges to which I should apply.

My Profile

Experience : Approx 7 year in IT services company. Out of this 2.5 years international experience involving requirements capture for critical client etc. Last 2 years managing a team of 40.
Little involvement in community service post college days.
Played, organised and enjoyed sports in college but not at state or national level.

Colleges currently under consideration :
Tuck
London business school
HAAS
INSEAD
Oxford SAID
ROSS

Entrepreneurship/ General Management
I am also interested in finance but dont have a background.

Which colleges do I have a realistic chance and any suggestions for safe list of colleges?

Please guide if possible.

Best Regards,
Vicky

Hi Vicky,

That's a great improvement on your GMAT. I think your management experience is also strong, although the lack of extracurriculars is a concern. Did you take on leadership roles in your sports teams? that may be useful.

I think your list is reasonable, Oxford should be safe for you. You may want to consider Darden as well, they have a strong general management program.

Good luck!

Thanks Amy, that was indeed a quick response.

I have never been a captain of the team sport, I have participated in but have participated in lot team as well as individual sports. However, I have taken leadership roles in organisation of sports event at under grad college which included handling the logistics, finding a sponsor and advertising the event within the college. Would it be a good idea to stress on this aspect through essays?

Thanks again for the quick response. I must say I concur with all the aspirants on the forum. You and your team are indeed doing an outstanding service. Your expertise make this forum a boon for all aspirant who have little consultancy otherwise.

Regards,
Vicky

Hi Vicky,

Thanks for the positive feedback, we appreciate it.

I think that the activities involving organizing sports and obtaining sponsors is absolutely useful. Any chance you could do a similar event now to show some persistent involvement? (a sports event to raise money for charity, for instance).

Good luck!
