The problem only gives details about 2 scenarios: "less than 154" and "greater than 154". Do we not need some clue about what is the number of items that weigh exactly 154kg.cris wrote:ok this is s bit difficult to explain because i have not used formulas, just common sense.

And you know that 60% of the cars that weight more than 100kg weight more that 154kg....that gives you 24 cars that weight more that 154 kg. The other 40% are 16 cars.....76-16=60.....60 cars weght less than 100kg.
So the answer must be less than 100. The only naswer possible answwre is A.

In other words, we only know 76% weigh less than 154. The rest 24% could weigh exactly 154kg! Therefore the answer could b (a), (b) or (c)
...or am I missing a trick here??
